Old town and eating tip: Magliano di Tenna, Le Marche
Magliano di Tenna: the beauty of old medieval towns in central Italy
It takes a few minutes to visit this little old town and it takes a few minutes to fall in love with it. Especially at sunset.
Magliano di Tenna is a small medieval village built on top of a hill, surrounded by defensive walls (as tradition wants). Because of its position Magliano offers a wide view on green hills and valleys, moving till the Adriatic sea.
We went to Magliano di Tenna for a nice walk and to have dinner in one of our favorite restaurants in the area: Osteria dell’Arco, a traditional restaurant right in the very center of the village (the main and only square).
We suggest the Antipasto (a selection of some of the best local cold cuts, cheese, a small taste of fried vegetables and olive all’ascolana with other amazing things…🤤), the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe (a dish usually prepared in Rome, that they are known for) the grilled meat (ask them about the best daily cuts) and, as a dessert, our favourite: MILLEFOGLIE
Magliano di Tenna is very close to Fermo and we definitely recommend a visit to this little jewel in Marche countryside: best thing is to do as we did, to head there at sunset and then stay for dinner at the Osteria.
Remember to take your camera and be ready for a true Marche style dinner (also bring a jacket if you are going to eat outside. Evening on top of a hill might be chilly)
